27 November 2008 - Air Conditioning Inspections and Energy Performance Certification We are now accredited Low Carbon Energy Consultants providing EPC's, and carrying out Air Conditioning inspections to improve building energy efficiency. Air Conditioning Inspections In England and Wales, Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB) Regulation 20 implements Article 9 of the EPBD that requires an inspection at intervals not greater than five years is carried out by an accredited inspector. Deadlines & Penalties Stage 1 - By 4th January 2009 the first inspection of all Air Conditioning Systems with an effective rated output greater than 250kW must have occured - typically large buildings greater than 2000sqm with complex centralised systems. For any system commissioned after 31st December 2008, the first inspection must take place within five years of it being put into service. Stage 2 - By 4th January 2011 the first inspection of all Air Conditioning Systems with an effective rated output greater than 12kW must have occured - all remaining buildings with centralised and packaged cooling systems.
